Ashgabat, June 29 – On the occasion of his birthday, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, received warm congratulations from several world leaders, including the Presidents of Turkiye, Uzbekistan, and Russia, TDH reports.
In a telephone conversation, President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, extended heartfelt wishes to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wishing him good health, prosperity, and continued success in his high-level state responsibilities. He praised Berdimuhamedov’s significant contribution to strengthening the friendly and fraternal ties between Turkmenistan and Türkiye. Türkiye and Turkmenistan continue to develop their partnership, especially after the gas agreement. Can we hope to see Turkmenistan join the Organization of Turkic States in October 2025? It’s worth waiting and seeing.
Similarly, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, wishing him a long life and success in his multifaceted efforts for the prosperity of Turkmenistan and the well-being of its people. He commended Berdimuhamedov’s role in deepening Turkmen-Uzbek relations and also extended his best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In addition, President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, sent a congratulatory telegram in which he emphasized Berdimuhamedov’s personal contribution to strengthening Russian-Turkmen relations. “It is difficult to overestimate your personal contribution to strengthening Russian-Turkmen relations,” Putin wrote. He expressed confidence that the partnership between the two countries would continue to develop fruitfully in the spirit of strategic cooperation, and wished Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov good health, happiness, and success.
During the conversations, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnerships with Turkiye, Uzbekistan, and Russia—nations he described as fraternal, reliable, and culturally connected through shared values and traditions.
The leaders noted with satisfaction that bilateral dialogues have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years, expanding across a wide range of sectors. They highlighted the dynamic growth of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as successful collaboration in science and education.
Regular exchanges between government delegations and constructive dialogue between ministries and agencies were acknowledged as key drivers of this progress. The importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and maintaining active engagement within international organizations was also emphasized.
