Baku, July 1, 2025 — At the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will embark on a state visit to Azerbaijan from July 2 to July 4, 2025.
The visit underscores the strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, with a focus on expanding bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains.
According to the official itinerary, July 2–3 will see President Mirziyoyev in Baku, where he will participate in the second meeting of the High-Level Intergovernmental Council. A series of high-level engagements are also scheduled, aimed at deepening strategic collaboration between the two nations.
On July 4, President Mirziyoyev will travel to Khankendi to attend the 17th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The summit will bring together leaders from across the Islamic world to discuss pressing regional and global issues. In addition to the summit, the Uzbek leader is expected to hold several bilateral meetings with counterparts from other member states.
In a related development, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, is also set to visit Azerbaijan. He is scheduled to arrive on July 2, and will join the summit proceedings in Khankendi, further emphasizing the regional significance of the event.
This high-level diplomatic activity reflects a growing momentum in regional cooperation and dialogue, with Azerbaijan playing a central role in fostering unity and collaboration among Turkic and Islamic nations.
