Brussels, June 28, 2025 — Under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, and with the support of the Office of the President, the State Committee for Organizing the National Naadam Festival, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and the NGO “Council of Mongolians Abroad,” the first-ever Naadam Festival of the World Mongols was successfully held in Brussels, the capital of the Kingdom of Belgium.
Several ambassadors participated, including those from Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Brussels media were also present.
This landmark event brought together Mongolians from across Europe to celebrate their rich cultural heritage. The festival featured the three traditional Naadam sports: Mongolian wrestling, archery, and knuckle-bone shooting. These competitions showcased the enduring spirit and athletic traditions of the Mongolian people.
In addition to the sporting events, the festival included a vibrant fair of Mongolian products and cuisine, as well as captivating folklore performances, offering attendees a full cultural immersion.
Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Head of the Organizing Committee, along with G. Ganzorig, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Mongolians Abroad, and B. Munkhdelger, Secretary General of the Council, announced that registration for the competitions will be coordinated through relevant sports associations and Mongolian embassies across Europe.
The inaugural World Mongols Naadam Festival marks a significant milestone in promoting Mongolian identity and strengthening the bonds among Mongolian communities worldwide.
The event ended with a concert featuring Mongolian music.
